With the launch of the long awaited World of Warcraft expansion the face of WoW has changed completely and even the most experienced player can be lost. There were new races added just as advertised and just as every other expansion has had. Unlike other expansions though every zone and almost every quest has changed beyond recognition. What that usually means to the player who wants to level as quickly as possible is that the Cataclysm WoW Alliance leveling guide is even more important to save wasted time and decrease frustration.
These changes are good news to older players who knew every quest and every zone intimately. The changes also mean that the speed leveler or experienced player may have no idea how and where to go to level on their own. There are exciting new quest lines for beginning characters of every race and although the Alliance area Gilneas is new and fresh, every zone has changed significantly. Relying on a leveling guide to show them the way through unfamiliar territory is one of the easiest ways for a player to speed up leveling. The quest interfaces have also changed significantly and sometimes quests can be turned in right after the player has completed that step even though the NPC is in another area entirely. Good leveling guides will advise a player when the turn in quest icon will appear and where to find it.
Finally, trade skills in WoW are usually optional and every race will get the chance to train them earlier than ever, right in their starting zone. However, any character who chooses to level and train trade skills may want to consider making them a secondary priority, and heading back into town to sell or train the next level of trade skills only when they are going there already to turn in quests.
